Interviews: Invertia
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal/Black Metal/Industrial Metal/Doom Metal band Invertia from the USA. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?
It came out just like that, it comes out sounding evil and ends nicely like a Spielberg film.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Dave & Tim D's roots started with the big four thrash bands & when he heard early 90's black metal he was inspired. Tim W's background was in industrial metal and the two of them brought these influences to the music.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
No we all met through a mutual friend who was friends with a "famous film producer" and she had a rhinosaurus for a pet. Unusual connection, but the rhinosaurus was the clincher.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
When it comes down to it, we really only listen to Black Sabbath. Everything else is derivative.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Dave writes nearly all of the lyrics and mostly comes from observing the human condition and how people react to certain situations. We all feel the need to express ourselves and music is a recipe of all of our influences and perceptions.
6. Where was your last gig?
We played in Brooklyn to rave reviews and we are looking at possibly performing live online in the near future.
7. Where would you like to act?
Hopefully in the next Dario Argento film.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
In the past, we have collaborated with Justin K. Broadrick from Godflesh and members of Submerged and Ministry. We contributed to a fossilized tribute to King Diamond collaborating with Tomas Lindberg from At The Gates. Not sure if we should be revealing this but we are still waiting to hear back from Attila Csihar on our next album.
9. Whom not?
Ted Nugent. We wouldn't play with that motherfucker for all the money in the world.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
Just do it. Your nerves will get you through.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Dave: Sanguisabogg
Tim W: Oranssi Pazuzu
Tim D: Ahab
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We don't really have fans. The death metal crowd doesn't get the industrial part and the industrial fans don't get the death metal part.
13. What do you think of your fans?
They are so very passionate!
