Interviews: Rising Alma
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock/Metal band Rising Alma from Germany. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?
Before founding the band we were already making music together and had written some songs already. One of them was Forgotten Soul. And in the chorus, Alīse sings "Forgotten soul rise up and start again“. Alma comes from Alīse and Máximo= Al and Ma and alma also means soul in Spanish. And so we came up with Rising Alma
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
I don’t think at any point we said "Let’s play this genre“. This is the sound that comes out when we write music together. It is a very natural thing that kind of just happens because of all our music background which is mostly rock music.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
As mentioned before Alīse and Máximo knew for a couple of months and were already writing songs as they decided to form the band.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Alīse P.O.D
Máximo Creed
Freddy Deftones
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Inspiration has different sources. Is difficult to say exactly where does that come from. But one source is definitely the bands we look up to.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last gig was in Berlin at the Fête de la Musique
7. Where would you like to act?
Everywhere where people would like to listen to us
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Wow, so many options. Certainly, the bands that inspire us.
9. Whom not?
With bands with a bad or meaningless message. Cause music is so powerful and we would never support those people.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
Yes, sure. That’s very normal. Our tip would be to practice and prepare. If you feel you are ready for the gig chances are you will feel more secure on the stage.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
P.O.D, Flyleaf, Creed, Guns n‘ Roses, Rage against the Machine just to name a few.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Honestly, there was not so much weird going on lately.
13. What do you think of your fans?
We are very happy that there are people out there feeling this musical connection and it is what keeps us going when someone comes to us and says that our music is special to them.
14. What do you think of our site?
There should be more sites like yours. Is very cool how much support you offer for the bands.
15. Something to add?
If you like our music, you can give us a like or follow us. Every little support means a lot to us.
