Interviews: Chorosia
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Sludge Metal band Chorosia from Austria. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
It’s a wordplay on the Croatian word “Korozija” (rust, corrosion). Thought it sounds cool, it gives a hint of what it might mean and yet it’s something that doesn’t mean anything or can mean anything to you.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
We don't know what genre we belong to, so it's hard to say. We just play the music we like and that we want to listen to.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes, for some years. We met for music then we put music on hold and just hung out then we started the band.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Butthole Surfers, Captain Beefheart, Butthole Surfers, and Captain Beefheart.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Tough to say. Inspiration comes from anywhere, it's more about the moment than about the "who" or "what".
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last gig did not happen yet and hopefully it won't happen for a very long time yet. Our most recent gig was opening for Crowbar in Viper Room in Vienna, Austria on the eight of June in 2023 AD.
7. Where would you like to act?
I'd like to act in a Swedish action movie.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Tom Cruise.
9. Whom not?
Brad Pitt.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
Yes but that was very long ago. A good advice is probably to rehearse a lot before even getting on that stage. Become one with your instrument and remember that those people came there to see you play and to have a good time. So relax, breathe in, breathe out, make eye contact and it will all be alright.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Butthole Surfers and Captain Beefheart.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
An autograph.
13. What do you think of your fans?
They're the best people on earth. The planet needs more of them!
14. What do you think of our site?
Exceptionally good.
15. Something to add?
Check out our new EP "Stray Dogs" out September 15th. And stay hydrated.
