Interviews: Sam Mooradian

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Metal artist Sam Mooradian from the USA. Check out this artist and follow him on his FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?
The band's name is my name! Since it’s largely my solo project, and since I have all my social media under my own name already, I thought it was a good fit.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
I think I gravitate towards prog and metal because of what I listened to growing up. Early on, I found prog and metal subreddits and forums, where I was able to quickly discover new stuff.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
The guest artists on Bad Brain are all friends of mine who I’ve either toured with or known from the scene, otherwise the music is all me. Live, I have a trio with two friends/local musicians.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
I used to think this was a hard question, but then I discovered The Mars Volta. I no longer think this is a hard question.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
All the artists that I look up to and admire, old and new.
6. Where was your last gig?
With the Sam Mooradian band, Long Island with Nick Llerandi, Absurd Condition, and Dhärä!
7. Where would you like to act?
I’ll be in Australia playing with Fallujah in two weeks, that’s a first for me that I’m very excited for.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Too many to list! Is anyone cool and super sick.

No one in particular comes to mind!
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
I have some nerves occasionally. Lots of factors go into whether I’m feeling good or feeling nervous before a show, but you just have to dive in and trust that you have the capability to do the thing. And you do.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
The Mars Volta is probably the most inspiring band out there for me. Animals As Leaders is another one. Mr. Bungle is up there too. Igorrr as well.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Nothing too weird, although I’ve had fans suggest that they should take my spot in a band.
13. What do you think of your fans?
Love them and appreciate them forever and always.
14. What do you think of our site?
It’s really sick! I love how easy it is to submit to your playlists (which are awesome, by the way)
