Interviews: Stealth

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Groove Metal band Stealth from Italy. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

IVAN: Our former guitarist Lorenzo suggested changing the name to Stealth during the spring of 2000. Until that time the band was called Metal Militia. As I remember it definitely came out just like that.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

IVAN: I've been listening to metal music since I was 14 and I really can't imagine playing another style of music..

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

IVAN: Me and Daniele (bassist), we knew each other before forming the band. We were in the same group of friends and the whole project for the band started from a pint of good beer we drank together somewhere.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

IVAN: It's Metallica for me and Daniele. Michele (drummer) loves Tool while I think Marco's (guitarist) favorite band is Helloween.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

IVAN: What I compose comes from inside. I need to write music. It is a vocation and not just a simple passion.

6. Where was your last gig?

IVAN: We played our last gig in Bologna, Italy last autumn. Then we focused on composing new songs for the upcoming release.

7. Where would you like to act?

IVAN: I would play everywhere basically. There are a lot of venues in the world in which it is worth playing.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

IVAN: With one of the famous bands I was inspired by, like Metallica or Iron Maiden. But also with Fear Factory wouldn't be so bad.

9. Whom not?

IVAN: I hate Coldplay and the majority of pop music.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

IVAN: Perhaps some of us suffered from it during our first gigs when we started. You can beat that by drinking a couple of good beers before performing.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

IVAN: I would say Fear Factory and American Head Charge as bands that influenced me a lot during the songwriting of the new tracks. I have obviously been inspired by all the metal of the 80s and the 90s. I also love all the underground bands we play within festivals and venues.

IVAN: There have been several

13. What do you think of your fans?

IVAN: I can say that they are really great. We played again in London last year and people's reactions were very positive. I love playing in the UK, particularly in London. When I'm there I feel at home.

14. What do you think of our site?

IVAN: Your site is the perfect place for an underground band to get visibility. I love it.
