Interviews: Aries Field
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Metal artist Aries Field from Italy. Check out this artist and follow him on his FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the project name, you plan it or come out just like that?
The first time I ever played guitar with someone else was in a land field in the countryside — with amps and all — and we were both Aries. When the drummer joined, we found out he was Aries too. Then yes, we did split up, but I kept the memory.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
I like metal, I think it’s a deep genre that hits you hard not for the violence of the music but rather for the strength of the emotions it conveys. However, I like to mix it with hard rock and acoustic stuff for a full blended spectrum of emotions.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
I have been with myself for the past 35 years; and yet, sometimes I still manage to surprise myself.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
My favorite band is Linkin Park, Fabio’s favorite keeps changing: Alter Bridge, Mastodon, Gojira, Trivium, Alice In Chains, and Machine Head. Alessio’s (guest guitarists) are Megadeth, Pantera, and Plini.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
It is mostly either past experiences or events that stuck with me — whether personal or not. But then I just pick up the guitar, start riffing, and things come out.
6. Where was your last gig?
It was in a hotel at the border with California and Nevada. In the crowd there was a cat called Jackpot — it was pretty close to Vegas. It’s a true story.
7. Where would you like to act?
Antarctica. Even though that privilege and moment in history should remain for the only ones who actually did it. Papa Het and his amazing ideas…!
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Mark Tremonti from Alter Bridge.
9. Whom not?
Me. I’d rather not be there.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
Na. It is fun! Just have fun!
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
As I said it keeps changing. My first productions it was mostly Alter Bridge. Now I’m trying to go faster and heavier, and Trivium is helping a lot. It’s actually pretty hard because they basically already wrote every possible metal riff there, it did happen once that I came up with a super cool song just to find out it was exactly the same riff as “When All Lights Die” — and I have never heard the song at that time. I didn’t know if I was disappointed or happy. Well, of course, I never completed that song! Kudos to Trivium.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
“Do you like rodents?”
13. What do you think of your fans?
I really like all five of them! Especially my dad!!
14. What do you think of our site?
It is very easy to navigate and with great focus on bands. I’m thrilled to be featured on it!
15. Something to add?
Thanks for having me, this was fun!
