Interviews: Erebos

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Melodic Death Metal/Metalcore/Thrash Metal band Erebos from Canada. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

We discovered the name when trying to pick one and ended up choosing the name of the Greek God of Darkness, EREBOS. It's the personification of the darkness of the universe. The darkness on the way to Hades. We fell in love immediately upon its discovery.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Metal is so powerful. We love the energy we feel when listening to metal and we want to share that energy with everyone.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Some of us went to school and worked together. We've had a few lineup changes over the years but we're all from the same metal scene here in Cornwall.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Kevin: Children of Bodom

Rob: AILD

Ryan L: Revocation

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The love of heavy, technical music drives us to write the songs we play. Again, it's the energy. As soon as a new, sick-ass riff is born, we all get excited. It ignites this fire within and it just keeps happening.

6. Where was your last gig?

The last gig was Cornwall Chaos Festival 2023. I think there were eleven bands that played that day. We headlined that day and it was a fucking blast. At the same time, we helped raise over $3000 for charity.

7. Where would you like to act?

We would love to play all over Canada. Festivals like Rockfest and Heavy MTL would be sick. Even internationally, we'll play anywhere. Let's go

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would love to play with bands like Revocation and Sylosis. Those would be some wild shows.

9. Whom not?

Taylor Swift

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Not really. It's all about PRACTICE. If you practice as much as you can, you'll know in your mind that you're prepared and there's nothing more you could have done. Also, WARMUP. Don't go up there cold. A good 30-minute warmup before your set goes a long way. Then just go out there and slay!

Children of Bodom, All That Remains, Sylosis, Revocation, As I Lay Dying, Darkest Hour

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are amazing! We love them all. They really know how to bring the energy into the pit when we play!
