Interviews: Like Sorrow

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Atmospheric Black Metal solo project Like Sorrow from the USA. Check out this artist and follow him on his FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

It actually comes from a Brett Anderson song called "Frozen Roads." The lyric in full is "hills like sorrow."

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I feel it's what I'm best at and I try to stay with what I've been playing for over 25 years.

3. Your favorite band?

Smashing Pumpkins

4. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

My muse helps with the ideas and the rest is inspired by the concepts of hell engrained in me as I grew up in the church.

5. Where was your last gig?

I don't play live.

6. Where would you like to act?

It would be cool to get enough people together to make this a live act but for now, I don't see it happening.

7. Whom would you like to feature with?

I would love to play a show with Borknagar or Wintersun.

8. Whom not?

No NSBM bands for sure.

9. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

When I have played shows I have suffered from it, yes. My advice is to just relax and have a couple beers beforehand.

10. What bands have inspired you the most?

Smashing Pumpkins, Borknagar, Nargaroth, Leonard Cohen, etc. I pull inspiration from so many different acts and genres.

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

To be honest, I don't have a good story about this. Usually, it's just the normal stuff like a shirt or CD.

12. What do you think of your fans?

I appreciate each and every single one of them.

13. What do you think of our site?

Your site is well put together and very informative. I'm glad to be mentioned on it. Thank you.

14. Something to add?

I've started work on my next EP so hopefully, everyone will get another 4-5 songs by the end of the year or early 2024. Thank you again for featuring me!
