Interviews: Scold´s Bridle

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Heavy Metal/Hard Rock band Scold's Bridle from Sweden. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

I tried out several different band names before I finally ended up with "Scold´s Bridle". I wanted something unique and that was not already used by someone else. As soon as I had an idea I always checked it on Spotify first to see if it was taken. I also had an idea to do like Black Sabbath did on their first album with the song Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath on Black Sabbath. Consequently, some of the songs of the album are previous ideas of band names, such as "Black Inferno" and "Angel Riot" (later changed to "Bloodbath Of Heaven" on the album). Eventually, I watched a "Big Bang Theory" episode where they mentioned "Scold´s Bridle". I liked it and let it grow on me. I checked that is was not taken and then eventually it got stuck. Unfortunately, I did not write a song called "Scold´s Bridle", but that might come later.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I have for as long as I remember been into hard rock and heavy metal so for me it wasn´t really a question.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

The band started as a single-man project. I know Johan Renkse who has co-written two of the songs ("Angel Maker" & "Echo In The Dark") many years back but the singers I did not know until we started working on this project.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Black Sabbath!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

To tell a story is what mainly inspires me to write songs. To get an interesting story with heavy guitar, bass, and drums is very inspiring.

6. Where was your last gig?

As I play all the instruments at the moment the live act is not really possible at the moment. However, that is definitely a dream and something I´m working on.

7. Where would you like to act?

Doesn´t really matter but of course, it would be a dream come true to play "Sweden Rock Festival".

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

If I can dream freely I must say Black Sabbath or Metallica. Candlemass would be pretty cool as well.

9. Whom not?

Haha, good question. U2 is kind of shit. Or any mainstream pop basically.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Personally I never really had any issues with that. But I guess a few beers before does actually help.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Black Sabbath, Metallica, Candlemass, Judas Priest and Entombed.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Haha, I guess you need some fans first to answer those questions.

13. What do you think of your fans?

I am very grateful to everybody who´s enjoying and listening to our music and buying some merch. Means everything!

14. What do you think of our site?

It´s great! Love anything that spreads the word of metal and also gives space and opportunity for more underground and not-so-established bands as well.

15. Something to add?

Thank you very much for the interview and make sure to check out our new album "Scold´s Bridle", available on all platforms we also have a brand new music video out now. Stay heavy and rock on!
