Interviews: Sullvation
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Heavy Metal/Melodic Metal/Progressive Metal artist Sullvation from the USA. Check out this artist and follow him on his FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?
It kind of just came to me. It’s a play-off of Salvation and my last name. Thought it sounded cool so I
went with it. I’ve always liked to come up with different types of names even if it’s made up. Sort of like my
band “Slauter Xstroyes”
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
I’ve been playing metal all my life, why stop now. It’s the music I love and feel most passionate about playing
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Well, it’s not a band…yet. This is a solo release. Something I’ve been wanting to do for many years.
Although I do know all that are involved except Tim Owens which I hired for a track.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Really hard for me to answer that one, unfortunately. I have 16 guest musicians involved
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Nobody but myself. I did however try to mainstream the material for this 1st release to hopefully
capture a wider audience. The last track, “Desolation of Abomination” is more of how I normally
write. More progressive. There will definitely be more of that for the next CD.
6. Where was your last gig?
I actually haven’t played anywhere worth mentioning for quite a few years. Just local clubs. Just been
more focused on writing and recording.
7. Where would you like to act?
Sorry, not sure I understand the question. Not an actor, although would love to act in a movie one
day. A good horror flick
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Again, don’t quite understand the question
9. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
I have not personally. I love being on stage, but most say, just picture the audience naked.
10. What bands have inspired you the most?
KISS, Iron Maiden, Symphony X, Fates Warning, Queensryche, Lizzy Borden, Metal Church and a lot of
underground metal
11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Nothing is too weird for me
12. What do you think of your fans?
Of course, I absolutely
I just want to thank everyone for their interest in my solo project “Sullvation”. I’m really hoping it
connects with the metal fans. I’m quite proud of it and can’t wait to start working on the next one
(which is already half-written
