Interviews: VAYA

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock artist VAYA. Check out this artist and follow her on it's FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

Hi Breathing:) VAYA came from «up There». I was just sitting on my piano seat and heard kind of native drums in my mind and whispers saying « WAHIA ». Joyful tribes voices. And right away the flow of the lyrics came as the Legend of The White Wolf and the first version of this song is named Vahia. I turned to VAYA because it is easier to read it:) I heard after that that Wahia means wolf in Cherokee language. So everything makes sense and I decided to receive it as my spiritual name and now official one.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Good question. I never decided to play a gender, I just «Go with the Flow» of ideas and sounds.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I knew Raph Mtx just before VAYA, during a period of music transition. I told him I would come back to him with ideas but I need first to welcome my new identity. So it was meant to be. I just moved to this small area and found his business card and contacted him for another matter and then I discovered he was a musician as well.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

The Doors, NIN ( The Fragile), Pink Floyd (The Dark Side of the Moon)

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Universe and Human Being

6. Where was your last gig?

In Japan last year; an emotional performance.

7. Where would you like to perform?

The USA, South America, and Australia

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

Most of them are dead:)))) But let’s say, Jack White

9. Whom not?

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Honestly, none. Or maybe the First Nations all over the world.
