Interviews: Von Loop

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock band Von Loop from Ireland. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

The band's name came from Luke. He was making a voice note of some lyrics on his phone and accidentally said Von Loop. He brought it into the rest of the band and we all agreed it was a good name to call ourselves.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We decided to write across multiple genres to ensure we didn’t become predictable and to try our best to make sure there was something for everyone in our sound.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Three of the band members went to school together, Stevie, Logan, and Andy. Luke met Stevie later when they studied music after leaving school. He then invited Luke to audition for the band after the original guitarist left.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

The favorite bands for everyone collectively would be the likes of Pavement, Nirvana, The Smiths, IDLES, Queens of the Stone Age, Biffy Clyro, Led Zeppelin, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

It is a much-needed form of therapy and escape – and it provides an incredibly fun challenge to overcome.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was in The Pavilion Bar, Belfast.

7. Where would you like to act?

Any major city outside of our own country.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Anyone who would push our creativity to include them in our set.

9. Whom not?

Depends on if we get along or not!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Yes, the simple answer is repetition, the more you do it the faster you will find comfort and work out how to present yourself to the crowd.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The artists/bands that were previously mentioned, were to name a few, otherwise it would be an extremely long list.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We haven’t had any really weird experiences with fans, but when we were on tour, one lady gave Andy the heel of her shoe, I’m fairly sure he still has it.

13. What do you think of our site?

Any website that promotes the music of artists who are trying to make a name for themselves is fine by us, thank you for your work!
