Track By Tracks: Cosmic Jaguar - The Order Of The Jaguar Knights (2023)

1. The Shorn Ones:

It's a song about an elite Aztec squad. The Shorn Ones known in classical Nuahtal as the cuauhchicqueh were an elite order of Aztec warriors in the Aztec army. Along with the order of the Otomoies, who were placed just under them in rank, the Shorn Ones were considered the best of the best, the most elite to fight for this military civilization.

2. The Bleeding Tree of Tamoanchan:

This is the Xochitlicacan, or "Flowering Tree," the bleeding tree of life located in Tamoanchan, the earthly paradise where the winds slash like sharp obsidian knives and the home of the gods in MÄ“xihcah mythology.

3. The Obsidian Mirror:

The obsidian mirror was the primary accessory of the supreme Aztec deity Tezcatlipoca, whose name means "smoking mirror." He is often depicted with an obsidian mirror on his chest, in his headdress, or replacing his right foot. Tezcatlipoca was the lord of the night and its creatures—above all, the jaguar, a powerful animal believed capable of crossing between the earthly realm and the underworld. Tezcatlipoca is sometimes represented as a jaguar, which was also a symbol of ancient Mexican rules. Jaguar pelts were reserved solely for their use.

4. Veil of Maya (Cynic cover):

Our cover of the song "Veil of Maya" has been released in honor of the 30th anniversary of Cynic's legendary album, Focus! It's a great honor for us to celebrate the anniversary of the genius album "Focus" in this way because if it wasn't for the music of Cynic and bands like Atheist and Death, we probably wouldn't exist! The album "Focus" has the power to inspire us forever! Cynic.
