Track By Tracks: Follow The Hollow - The Sorrow Keeper (2023)
"The Sorrow Keeper" is the debut EP that marked the beginning of the Follow The Hollow project. It combines the melodic death metal with metalcore, and I hope it will appeal to fans of both genres.
A Stranger's Call. The album intro, which was probably conceived about 10 years ago for my band at the time, Ceremonial Perfection. The band disbanded after just one album, and this intro sat on the shelf, waiting for its moment. It starts with acoustic guitar and transitions into aggressive yet melodic riffs on electric guitar, a classic for beginning a melodic death metal album.

2. Follow The Hollow:
The track marked the beginning of this project. It was born during the time of the coronavirus when everyone had a lot of free time, and the overall mood in society was pretty low. One day, while playing various riffs in my head, they literally came together to form this song. As many might have guessed, the title was taken from a song by the band Soilwork. I thought it sounded absolutely awesome, and it was a nice way to pay tribute to such legends.
3. Void:
A very personal song for me in terms of lyrics. I think at some point, we all look back into the past, at the path we've traveled, the actions we've taken. It's like you're looking at yourself through someone else's eyes. The song is very depressive, but it's a way to say that in difficult life situations, you're not alone, and you shouldn't give up or leave your life to fate. Fight for yourself and your loved ones, don't allow your addictions to drown you.
4. Gates of Shadows:
I've always loved listening to my favorite bands' full albums. I hate the modern trend of releasing only singles because it's commercially viable in the streaming era. An album should be like a complete story, even if it's an EP. And this is exactly the culmination of 'The Sorrow Keeper.' The track is very melodic, and slower in tempo than the others. It features both intense guitar riffs and melody, electronic elements, and choral singing, which brings it to a powerful conclusion.
