Interviews: Alchemy Fire

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Metal/Power Metal band Alchemy Fire from the UK and the USA. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

The band name Alchemy Fire actually came from a friend who reads Tarot cards she pulled a card that had the word Alchemy on it and it had flames, so we put them together, and bam, Alchemy Fire

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

My previous bands have always had that Iron Maiden /Judas priest type feel to them....it just moved into that different kind of field I guess....no other reason

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No, is the simple answer, we all sort of evolved from a band mix kind of weird I just started searching and Tom the drummer was the first person I got connected with so I flew to the USA and started putting scratch tracks together with him and we just evolved from there

4. Each band member's favorite band?

My favorite bands are as follows:

Me (Paul): Queensryche (in the past), Evergrey (nowadays)

Tom: Rainbow

David: Deep Purple

Felipe: Angra

Neil: Gentle Giant

Wayne: Firewind

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

As individuals we are all playing different things for live venues, such as Wayne is very committed to Onslaught his other band, who have been touring all over Europe on the festival circuit. Neil, sessions with people and has this big thing for Cozy Powell tribute coming at Xmas. Felipe is always jetting off to Brazil, he did some live shows over there for TV and radio. David is in several bands with different album releases at the moment but to keep his voice in check has his own one-man acoustic shows going on in Vegas. I'm busy in the studio all the time and me and Wayne try to get together when we can. We are planning on putting some shows together in 2024 and one of the shows being talked about is Bloodstock uk....if that comes off that would be awesome

6. Where was your last gig?

The one place we would love to do is Download. Tom has already played it with his previous band SOIL

7. Where would you like to act?

I think any decent band would be cool as there are so many really good bands out there

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I think we could work with most bands depending on the venue and where it is I suppose

9. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

As far as stage fright...I think all musicians have that butterfly in the stomach moment..... it's good because it keeps you focused.....just stick to your planned songs with no surprises and you will be fine....the last thing you want is someone who wants to improvise when the rest of are not prepared for it

10. What bands have inspired you the most?

From me personally speaking....it started with Dokken....George Lynch got me into heavy metal....then it was definitely Iron Maiden/Judas Priest and Queensryche for their songwriting

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

The weirdest thing a fan has asked me for....once after I had played a gig a guy came up to me and asked me if I would marry his girlfriend because she fancied me??? Strange but true

12. What do you think of your fans?

We think our fans are really important to us......we do this music for you...without them, we would not be doing this....the more the merrier...

13. What do you think of our site?

We think you have a great platform for the music scene and we hope it grows and and continues to get bigger and bigger

14. Something to add?

keep listening for more announcements and play our music....we are in the early stages of doing a second album....and we will tour in 2024...looking forward to seeing you all on the road.....cheers
