Interviews: Conspiracy Of Blackness

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Metal/Nu-Metal band Conspiracy Of Blackness from Italy. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

Conspiracy Of Blackness had another name in 2008! They were born as COBRA with a male voice and played Heavy Metal. The first change happened when I joined the band. We initially kept the name, but it became an acronym for: "Conspiracy Of Blackness And The Relative Aftermath". When we went into the studio to work on "Pain Therapy", we decided to change it again to arrive at the final name: Conspiracy Of Blackness. The name Conspiracy Of Blackness comes from an idea of Antonio lead guitarist and founder of the band. In this name, we have enclosed all that we are, a union of minds and souls, a little subversive, angry, and dark. The name, and the lyrics of our music reflect who we are and the message we want to convey to the public.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Nu and Alternative Metal are part of us we feel this genre very closely, and it helps us to better express our sensations and emotions.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No, we reformed the band in 2021, Francesco Salerno (drums) and Andrea Caliri (bass) are the new members of Conspiracy of Blackness with them we are already working on the next album. Antonio and I composed and recorded Pain Therapy with the previous lineup (Antares Graziano De Nunzio (bass) and Alessandro Spenga (drums)) that we had known for a long time.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Very difficult answer:

Antonio: Judas Priest;

Grazia: Korn

Francesco: Dark Tranquillity

Andrea: Dream Theater.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

To create our songs we are inspired by our life experiences, and we carefully observe what surrounds us. For us, the reality that we live every day is a great source of inspiration.

6. Where was your last gig?

The last concert was in Italy in the province of Turin in June. It was a good life, we had fun!

7. Where would you like to act?

We would love to play anywhere!

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I think every artist has suffered a little from stage fright in their life! We are human, and showing ourselves to others is always a challenge.

Our musical influences range from metal, with bands like Korn, Lacuna Coil, In This Moment, Evanescence, to Dark/Dark New Wave, with bands like Dead Can Dance, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Tears For Fears, who inspire us for the care of the arrangements and the atmosphere.
