Interviews: Cryptic Confinement

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Black Metal/Death Metal/Thrash Metal band Cryptic Confinement from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their INSTAGRAM PROFILE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

I honestly don't remember where I got the band name. I was like 17 when I thought of it, but I remember having several ideas for a band name, and 'Cryptic Confinement' was the only name that was not already being used.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Well, metal is definitely my favorite genre of music. I do listen to other stuff but I like metal more than any other kind of music.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I've never actually met any of the musicians I have collaborated with on this new album. We all live in different parts of the world and so we work together online. 

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Well, I don't really have just one favorite band. There have been so many that have inspired me throughout the years.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I don't really have a lot of other creative outlets other than music. So when I feel like being creative, that's what I do. I write songs.

6. Where was your last gig?

Cryptic Confinement has never actually played a live show. I have tried unsuccessfully many times to put together a live band. Maybe someday it will happen, but who knows?

7. Where would you like to act?

I could never act. That takes way more talent than playing music.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Off the top of my head? Emperor! Saw them live for the first time this year and it was so awesome!

9. Whom not?

Kid Rock. Fuck that guy!

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Well, I've always heard people say to just picture everyone in their underwear.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I take inspiration from almost everything I listen to so it's really hard to say.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

An autograph.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They're great! It's very encouraging to hear from people all over the world who support my music!
