Interviews: Dirty Mitts

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band Dirty Mitts from the UK. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or did it just come out like that?

We met up with the intention of bouncing ideas around for a memorable group name. The sentiment of "in order to make things happen you have to get your hands dirty" resonated with us, and from that, 'Dirty Mitts' was born.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Our shared passion lies in classic Rock’n’roll. The energy, the rawness, and the authenticity of hard and classic rock just spoke to our souls. It's also great to live!! 

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We hail from different parts of the world - the UK, Poland, and Egypt. Fate brought us together in 2022, united by our love for raucous Rock’n’roll.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Tommy is a die-hard fan of Freddie Mercury. Matt likes a bit of everything. Mateusz has a special place in his heart for AC/DC and Guns n' Roses. And Mo is captivated by Elvis!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our inspirations span from personal experiences, emotions, and relationships, to the legacies of iconic rock legends. Our diverse backgrounds also play a significant role, infusing a rich tapestry of stories into our music.

6. Where was your last gig?

Haha, can't remember but our next gig is 15th of October at King Billys in Northampton and Dublin Castle in Camden on the 22nd of October 

7. Where would you like to play?

The dream is to have a massive fanbase that would see us playing at sell-out shows and big festivals. Iconic venues like Wembley would be a dream come true. 

8. Who would you like to support?

Supporting legendary acts like The Rolling Stones or AC/DC would be a surreal experience, given how much they've influenced our sound.

9. Who not?

We're open to collaboration and supporting a wide range of artists, but we'd probably shy away from genres that don't align with our energy and message.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Like any artist, there have been moments of nervousness. Our tip would be to remember why you started – for the love of music. Focusing on that passion can help push past the nerves.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Some of the greatest inspirations for us include The Rolling Stones, Royal Blood, AC/DC, The Cult, and of course, Freddie Mercury's Queen - Tommy our frontman believes the show comes first and that's because of so many legendary frontmen that have inspired him.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

After one particular gig, due to a misunderstanding, someone thought we were called Dirty Sh*ts. It led to some amusing interactions and requests!

13. What do you think of your fans?

We're immensely grateful for our fans. Their support and energy fuel us. They're the reason we keep creating and performing.
