Interviews: Velvet Chains

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band Velvet Chains from the USA. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

In 2018 we started as a cover band playing music from the 90s & 00s, so we felt the name gave people a good idea of what we were. In 2021 we became an original band with a new lineup, but we decided to keep the name as we had already started building a following. Our name represents our influences but does not represent our sound as it’s much more modern/produced/heavier.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Because we are huge fans ourselves of rock music.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I’m the founder (Nils) and I only knew Jason (our drummer) from before, as we had been in another band together a couple years prior.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Nils, Burton, Ro: Guns N’ Roses.

Lahi: Kiss. 

Jason: Motley Crue.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Each member draws inspiration from different sources and life experiences, but our lyrics tend to be mostly about difficult, emotional situations and relationships. 

6. Where was your last gig?

In Las Vegas, we opened for Last in Line, a legendary supergroup with members that have been in DIO, Def Leppard, Offspring, & Ozzy Osbourne.

7. Where would you like to act?

We would love to do a proper world tour in the future. There is not one specific stage we dream of, but rather as many as we can achieve.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

There are so many names we’d love to collaborate with that it would take up 10 pages, however, if you refer back to our favorite bands, that will give you an idea of those that are at the top of our list.

9. Whom not?

We’re very open to working with anyone who’d like to work with us, except of course people who have engaged in bigotry of any kind.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I’ve (Nils) never had stage fright; definitely a little anxiety/nervous in the beginning, but not stage fright. The only advice I’d give a beginner is don’t eat or drink too much before going on stage, and understand that once you’re on there doing your thing you’ll be in your element and having an incredible time with zero anxiety/stress.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Definitely grunge, hard rock, & alternative bands from the 90s & 00s, because that’s what I grew up with. There are also other somewhat recent bands like Highly Suspect, Royal Blood, & The Haunt that I really dig too.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

A few people have tattoos of our band name with our signatures included. While I also have band tattoos, the idea of someone getting that done with our band is still something new. I love it though and I’m really grateful to them!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are really devoted and kind to us. It’s mind-blowing how much they love our music and they’re a big part of the reason why we keep pushing forward every day.

14. What do you think of our site?

We really appreciate the time and effort you take to get to know us. A lot of our success comes from sites like yours, that are spreading our music to wider audiences. You’re doing a great job so please keep on keepin’ on!
