Interviews: Violence System

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Symphonic Death Metal/Death Metal band Violence System from the USA. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

When we initially formed, we were actually more of a "Cyber" death metal band, so instead of an orchestra like we currently have, we had more techno stuff. So we wanted a machine-esque name, thus Violence System was born. After our original EP (That is no longer available anywhere) we drastically changed our sound to become what we are today, but the name stuck.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

For me personally, when I formed the band in 2015, I had just left my old metalcore band and was dying to play more aggressive and more technical music. I've always been a fan, and it just felt like a natural progression for me to move into this genre.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Only our vocalist John and I had known each other through both of our old projects. The other guys came along through the years and we've just continued to improve with each addition.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Mine would have to be Devildriver, John (Vocals) is big into Megadeth and Mechina, but has also gotten super into Humanity's Last Breath recently. Brian (lead guitar) is big into old In Flames, Hate Eternal & Nile. Harry (Bass) loves Symphony X, Fleshgod Apocalypse, the more technical the better for Harry. Kendrick (Drums) is a metalcore and hardcore kid, but we've been getting him into bands like Fleshgod and Morbid Angel since he's been with us.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Lyrically, my personal experiences as well as the world around me are inspiration enough. As for the music, the drive to continue improving and writing something better than the last release is what inspires me.

6. Where was your last gig?

Blackstrap Music Hall in Gainesville, Georgia. It was the last show of our "Behold The Brutality" Tour with Subdivisions & Truth To Power.

7. Where would you like to act?

Playing a big metal festival would be incredible, something like Wakken or Bloodstock.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Orbit Culture is an up-and-coming band we'd love to play with, and of course someone like Fleshgod Apocalypse or Septicflesh.

9. Whom not?

We're really open to anything, we've played shows with plenty of acts that we didn't fit with.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

It comes and goes, sometimes my anxiety gets the better of me but I always push through. Even if you have stage fright, just remember, you won't be on stage forever, just for your set. And you'd hate yourself more for not pushing through and just playing the damn show.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Obviously Fleshgod Apocalypse, but also Devildriver, Morbid Angel, Decapitated, and In Flames.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing too crazy. But it still blows my mind that people ask us for autographs, we're nobody!

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are the best! Fiercely loyal, and they absolutely know how to throw down in a pit!

14. What do you think of our site?

We love and appreciate anyone who puts some spotlight on up and coming artists. So thank you for everything ya'll do!
