Interviews: Adrenaline Kings

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock band Adrenaline Kings from Austria. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

Well, we wanted something that sounded energetic and a bit arrogant all at once, so Adrenaline Kings seemed to fit the bill!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

There was never any other option. All of us grew up listening to hard rock and it’s our favorite genre, so hard rock it is.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes and no – I moved to Vienna from Germany and didn’t know any of the other guys before they answered my ad. Our drummer Florian and our guitar player Paulus had played in bands together before that.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Matthias (vocals): Scorpions

Paulus (guitar): Anthrax

Roland (bass): Stones

Florian (drums): Guns n’ Roses

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Well musically the ideas come from divine intervention – there’s no influencing that! Lyrically it’s whatever happens to be on my mind: world events, love, politics, drunken bar brawls, etc.

6. Where was your last gig?

A couple of months ago at the Arena in Vienna, which is an amazing venue full of history and character.

7. Where would you like to perform?

South America and Japan.

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

Anyone with a large fan base who treats us well.

9. Whom not?

Anyone with a small fanbase who doesn’t treat us well.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I don’t ever remember suffering from it and I don’t think the other guys do or have either. There’s always a nervous tension before every show, but honestly you usually have so many things on your mind before you go onstage that you don’t really have time to be suffer from stage fright.

Roland: Muse

Florian: AC/DC

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

One fan invited me to her birthday party in another country. So of course I went! 

13. What do you think of your fans?

I think of them more as friends we may not know yet. Anyone who enjoys the same music we do is a kindred spirit.

14. What do you think of our site?

Most of the bands you cover seem a little heavier than what we’re used to, but all rock and metal needs support in this day and age.
