Interviews: INTHEWHALE

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock/Alternative band INTHEWHALE from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

The name comes from the song, "Satan In The Wait," by Daughters. The line is, "some gutless worm, seeking a free ride inside the stomach of a whale." We liked the idea of the name INTHEWHALE because the lyric is so self-deprecating and a lot of our lyrical themes are the same.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We started the band with the idea of playing the music we wanted to hear. Our style is a total mishmash of all the music we love.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We met in college while playing in two different bands that played together a lot.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Nate: Smashing Pumpkins

Eric: Weird Al Yankovic

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Song inspiration can come from anywhere, but mostly it's just about the things that happen in our lives, good and bad.

6. Where was your last gig?

We did a small run of home-state shows for our album release. Denver, Greeley, and Grand Junction. All shows were awesome

7. Where would you like to act?

In a Hallmark Christmas movie two rivaling bakery shop owners

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We'd love to collaborate with Vanessa Carlton on a heavy cover of "A Thousand Miles"

9. Whom not?

Kid Rock

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

We don't really get nervous on stage. The trick to beating stage fright is having confidence in your ability to perform and to really believe in your band. If you don't believe that you can't take control of the crowd, the crowd will sense that and pull back.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Smashing Pumpkins, Deftones, Every Time I Die, Tenacious D

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We had a fan once tell us that they weren't able to make it to the show that night, but if we could come to their house during the day and play an acoustic set for them (for free), they'd really appreciate it.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They're awesome!

14. What do you think of our site?

It's wonderful! Thanks for having us!

15. Something to add?

Check out our new album "Chosen At Random" everywhere
