Interviews: The Grimm Riffer

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal/Hardcore solo project The Grimm Riffer from the USA. Check out the interview and the project if you love Knocked Loose or In Flames.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

The idea of the band name pretty much just came out like that. A one-man show and the riffs are grim.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

I wanted to play this genre because I like it. I want to push it. It may seem generic and the album may be seen as generic, but everything has to have a starting point to push off on.

3. Your favorite band?

If I was gonna pick one right now at this point in time, The White Buffalo, not very metal. Haha

4. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

When I write songs, it usually comes from a quick shot of inspiration and then I just try to run with it and hope I don’t hate it at the end.

5. Where was your last gig?

About 20 or so years ago when I was a kid. Some hole in the wall in Arizona that’s long gone.

6. Whom would you like to feature with?

Haha I would like to feature with anyone that wants to. The singer from The Bled or The Banner would be awesome if I need be specific.

7. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Stage Fright is a thing but it goes away the more you do it. Tips for a beginner: Stop caring about what other people think about you and just go. If they don’t like you, you probably won’t ever see them again and that’s a good thing. Also excessively drinking before a show is NOT a good idea.

8. What do you think of our site?

I like your site a lot, it’s a breath of fresh air and full of cool insights into bands and their art and music. Most sites just regurgitate information about popular groups and that’s it.
