Interviews: Infected Chaos
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal band Infected Chaos from Austria. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out
just like that?
Infected Chaos was founded after the split of the former band called "Chaosreign“. So the word "Chaos“ shall remind us of the roots where all this
came from and "Infected“ came by chance. There is no deeper meaning behind
it.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Because it's awesome! And by our interpretation of Death or Extreme Metal, there are no boundaries and limits. So we can develop our sound just as we
want.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
We all were friends and shared the stage while acting in different bands long
before Infected Chaos was founded. Except for our drummer who is a lot
younger than the rest of us. We found him in an ad we placed in our local
newspaper and do not want to miss this great guy since then. It harmonized
from the beginning!
4. Each band member's favorite band?
We cannot pick any specific bands here as it always depends on the mood
everybody is into. For everybody, it has a huge range from Classic Rock to old-school metal to really extreme stuff in the Death and Black Metal scene.
There are also influences from beyond the rock genre as well, talking about
movie scores for example.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
It ́is the energy we create when we are together. We're just trying to be
creative and the result is the sound we make. Lyrically there are many
influences from personal life, global problems, the sickness of humanity,
psychological stuff, nature, and so on. For the next album we are planning to
do something out of the box, so keep an eye on us.
6. Where was your last gig?
When you read these lines we will just be back from Mladá Boleslav, Czech
Republic. There is a small but fine club there and the local scene is just going
nuts on metal! We played there already some years ago but unfortunately, this
will have been the last gig ever there... Eternal Hails to our friend Farář
Hellvicar for making this possible!
7. Where would you like to act?
We love to play whenever wherever. Nothing can compare to going and stage
and freaking out. The Party. San Festival in Germany would be something that
we'd like to achieve.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Too many. It would take hours to answer this one. There are so many great
acts out there. We already opened live for the legendary Possessed! Really cool
guys. Everyone we performed with so far was absolutely formidable people.
Hopefully, this streak lasts.
9. Whom not?
Nazis!
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on
how to beat that?
No. We know how hard we rehearsed and that we are always ready to go on
stage. That was never a problem for us. Maybe this will come when we play
bigger venues, who knows?
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Again way too many to mention. Everybody has his own influences here. We
combine this as everybody contributes equally to the songs and the result is
Infected Chaos. We do not start working on songs thinking for ourselves "Oh,
come on, this one should sound like band A with a bit of band B in the
Chorus“ or something like that. That wouldn ́t work for us.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
One time somebody wanted to lick our singer's bald and sweaty head after the
gig because he thought it would grant him luck. That's the weirdest we can
remember.
13. What do you think of your fans?
Great and chaotic people! It's always fun to talk and drink with these
supporters! This Cheers goes out to you!!
14. What do you think of our site?
It is a cool and very informative platform to discover new stuff. We especially
like this Track by Track thing as it gives you great insight into what the artists
inspired and what was their intention behind the songs. Keep up the great
work!
15. Something to add?
Thanks for your support and the interview! Metal on!!! See you on the road!
