Interviews About Albums: DRAKON - Светопреставление (2024)
In this new interview, we sat down with the Russian Black Metal band DRAKON to ask questions about their album "Светопреставление".
1. What can you say about this new CD?
Veleyar: It's a brand new job. DRAKON appeared in a new role both musically and lyrically.
We have completely moved away from the limits of the genre, and created this album with
complete freedom!
2. What is the meaning of the CD name?
Demetr: The name “Светопреставление” means Thunderdome, the End of the World.
3. Which one is the composer of the CD?
Veleyar: I am the composer as before. I composed all the music for the new album.
4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?
Veleyar: We've noticed a lot of interest from fans on Spotify for the song "Foreverness."
This song is the final song on our album. Although I was more betting on the song "Gold".
5. Is there a special message in this CD? If there is what it is?
Veleyar: This is our own interpretation of the myth of the End of the World in the traditional
Russian epic style, our own view of what is Light and Darkness, what is Good and Evil and
what is the Earthly Truth.
6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?
Veleyar: All the lyrics are on our Bandcamp and there are translations of all texts into
English: https://drakonblackmetal.bandcamp.com/
7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family,
someone you'd love to thank especially?
Veleyar: The album was influenced in terms of lyrics by all the bad events happening in the
world right now. And they were passed through the ideas of Russian cosmism, the ideas of
Ragnarok, the End of the World in the old Russian way!
8. Something to add?
Demetr: We will be very happy to increase the number of our listeners. Our music
simultaneously carries a deep spiritual grain musically and poetically and is also designed
just for a wide range of listeners, from lovers of melodic death and death metal to lovers of
melodic black and even doom death.
Veleyar: Thanks for the interview!
