Behind The Artworks: Grand Inquisitor - Directorium Inquisitorum (2024)

The cover art started with a sketch by hand by our singer’s talented Daughter, Mildred Mondragon. She knew we wanted a kind of dark, esoteric spin on traditional depictions of church imagery. We then sent it over to a friend, John “Rozmere” Russell at Grim Sigil Art, who did the color fill and digital layout for us. John also did the CD face and back plate design, which is kind of a spin on the actual cover of the Directorium Inquisitorum by Nicholas Eymerich, which was used a guidebook for identifying and prosecuting heresies by the Inquisitors in the Middle Ages.
