Interviews About Albums: ACID WALLS - GLASS PIECES (2024)
In this new interview, we sat down with the American Hard Rock/Psychedelic Rock band ACID WALLS to ask questions about their album "GLASS PIECES".
1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?
Our new “Glass Pieces” EP is a collection of three songs that we truly feel represent an
authentic moment in time for us as a band. We feel this EP is a true representation of our
ability to express our thoughts through song. These three songs are near and dear to our
hearts and are some of our favorites to play live!
2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?
The “Glass Pieces” EP derives its name from the first two songs of the project: “Glass
Piece Pt.1” & “Glass Piece Pt. 2.” Furthermore, this title represents the fragility we find
in our relationships with others and the relationships we have with ourselves. When we
dig deeper into these relationships, we can often find things that scare us, but the only
way we can begin to build strong connections with ourselves and others is by walking
through the fear to find our strength on the other side.
3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?
Our lead guitarist Elliott Moreau wrote all of the lyrics, riffs, and solos in this project. The rhythm guitar parts were written by our rhythm guitarist Dom Russo. The
bass parts were written by Bailey Packard. The drum parts were written by our drummer
Eli Pidgeon, as well as a contribution to the lyrics of the song “Jagged Brain,” which says
“Don’t you know you take away the things that make my brain behave.”
4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?
I would pick “Glass Piece Pt. 2” as my favorite song in the project. It’s a bit of
an epic song that is heavy and melancholic but also beautiful and hopeful at the same
time.
5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what is it?
The message in these songs may appear differently to different listeners. For me, it's an
expression of our deep-seated human desire to seek out deep connections with the ones
we love in a world that can often be overwhelming and scary.
6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?
Towards the beginning of “Glass Piece Pt. 2,” some lyrics say, “Feeling all alone in the
right places, all alone. Feels so good feels so bad.” This section exemplifies the idea that
you can be in the presence of the person you love (in the right places) and still feel all
alone. These moments feel bad because you can feel the distance growing between
yourself and another, but at the same time, there is a sense of safety in withdrawing from
the other to preserve yourself.
7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family,
someone you'd love to thank especially?
I think as a band we truly inspire each other to work towards expressing ourselves in the
most effective way possible and always working hard to be the most authentic versions of
ourselves that we can be. I’d also like to thank my girlfriend for being a big source of
inspiration.
8. Something to add?
We’re excited for what’s to come in our future as a band. Keep an eye out for our first
full-length album coming summer 2024! Come check out one of our live shows where we
truly feel we put on an exciting performance. Long live Acid Walls!!!
