Interviews: KOBOLD
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Speed Metal/Thrash Metal band, KOBOLD, from Serbia. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?
We wanted to name ourselves "Goblins", but there was a huge band named like that in Serbia already, so we looked for a close alternative. Kobold is what we came up with.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
It came to us naturally. Playing an instrument comes down to fun for us, and the music we play is the most fun to play in front of an audience.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
The band has changed so many members that it is hard to count them all, however, with each new crew, come new adventures and new friendships form and deepen.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
It's hard to tell, but Elio is into goth music mostly, Mateja is into Japanese visual kei bands and Nikola is into old-school rock and glam.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Good times in life create good songs, and bad times create perfection.
6. Where was your last gig?
At our very own largest metal festival in Serbia - EMPIRE Metal Festival.
7. Where would you like to act?
We would like to play Wacken one day.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Desingerica
9. Whom not?
Breskvica
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
Mateja suffered like crazy in the beginning, however, experience makes the fright go away. Think less, play more.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Megadeth, Pantera, Type O Negative, Akercocke, Burzum even... It's hard to tell what our influences are. For instance, the upcoming EP was heavily influenced by Batushka.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
To be hunted down in the forest by one of us for sport with a crossbow and drowned in the river.
13. What do you think of your fans?
Those are some of the most eccentric and crazy young people we've ever met. It's like an asylum ward down there in the mosh pit.
14. What do you think of our site?
Without sites like yours, underground metal would not burn as bright as it does.
15. Something to add?
Stay weird, stay kinky.
