Interviews: LILLA VENEDA

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Industrial Metal/Black Metal/Death Metal band, LILLA VENEDA, from Poland. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

Virian: We were looking for a name that would be unique but also captures the musical atmosphere. 'Lilla Weneda' is a dark tragedy immersed in the pagan period (pre-Polish). It evokes the best tragedies written by William Shakespeare but with a Slavic background. Since my youth, I had been gazing at this book, which was lying on the shelf, and this name appealed to me the most out of all the others. A coincidence? I don’t think so. :)

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Virian: It resonates the most with our inner spirits. It’s very natural. However we've always aimed for the purest expression of our message so don’t be surprised that we will be evolving all the time…

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Virian: No. Passion for music connected us.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Virian: Hard to mention only one but let’s try. So I will choose, Death

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Antris: Emotional inner state Virian: Inner and outside world

6. Where was your last gig?

In Rude Boy in Bielsko-Biała with Maplhas. 04.2023

7. Where would you like to act?

Wacken, Brutal Assault, Mystic Festival, Hellfest, SummerBreeze…

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Satyricon, Gojira, Behemoth, Watain, Mayhem, Abbath, Hypocrisy, Vader, Marduk, Pain, Mgla, Dimmu Borgir, Bleed from Within, Rammstein, Korn, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson…

9. Whom not?

Some weeks “metal” acts like Sabaton :P

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

V: Play as much as possible, exercise very often (sport in general reduces stress), use Ashwagandha.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Death, Type O Negative, Metallica, Satyricon, Behemoth, Alice in Chains, Megadeth, Slayer, Mayhem, Burzum, Rage Against the Machine, SOAD, Slipknot, Immortal, Emperor, Ulver, Gojira, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Faith No More, Depeche Mode, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

V: Got to marry her.

13. What do you think of your fans?

V: Real and dedicated. Very sensitive and wise. Open minded.

14. What do you think of our site?

I think that supporting a metal scene is a mission and only trve metal heads can do it so thank you! \m/
