Behind The Artworks: Gnarwhal - Altered States (2024)

We really wanted to work with a local artist for our next release and coincidentally at a show we played back in December 2023, we were approached by Jonah Cutler. He indicated that he’d really be interested in working with us. So when we started brainstorming ideas for our EP art, we reached out and established a really cool relationship. Jonah is an amazing artist and has done some really neat and doomy pieces.

 

We as the band really didn’t have a concept in mind so we let Jonah roll with it freely with the stipulation that he listen to the early mixes of our EP as he illustrated.

 

When he presented us with the finished art, I think we were all surprised because we had no idea what to expect, but we absolutely love what he came up with.
