Behind The Artworks: Chemical Storm - Digital Dementia (2024)

The artist, known as The Dark Wolf project, supports Wolf conservation in Europe and North America through the sales of his artwork. The collaboration came about when the band’s guitarist, Dave Austin met Dark Wolf at his stall at the Bloodstock festival. Dave fell in love with his work and they discussed a concept based on one of Dark Wolf’s rough sketches, and the project evolved over the last year to become a masterpiece of metal artwork.

 

The image is complementary to the songs on the EP, it’s a commentary on the pervasive and often isolating nature of technology and social media, highlighting the potential loss of genuine human interaction, and the detachment from the present moment and the natural world as well as the potential long term cognitive effects and memory loss problems caused by excessive use of digital technology. Digital Dementia isn’t just a cool title, it’s a genuine term that social media companies won’t want you knowing about if they want you to continue spending your life mindlessly scrolling through their garbage content!
