The Lovers of Life is about the disastrous triumph of religious dogma as it worms its way into the structures of law globally via populist political power, so that everyone gets what they want, which is the furthest thing from any ethic that values “Life”. The moral panic around trans and queer realities and the rush to curtail queer visibility and legal rights connects directly to the organized assault against access to (safe/legal) abortions. More simply, it’s a war by the powerful on any non-procreative choices which threaten to minimize the size of the future underclass, which their place at the top of the food chain depends on.
