Interviews: THE CHUCK NORRIS EXPERIMENT
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band THE CHUCK NORRIS EXPERIMENT from Sweden. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or come out just like that?
I think it came out just like that after attending the concert + several listening to the Charles “Chuck” Norris
masterpiece “The Los Angeles Flash” recorded live in Gothenburg, you know like a tribute to a great artist
and guitar player.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Being a lover of rock´n´roll, hard rock, and metal of all flavors the choice was not hard – cool music to play
and listen to. I´ve been playing in a few bands over the years, and all kinds of genres, but good old dirty hard
rock with a great grrrooovve just leaves me with this good feeling and satisfaction!
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Me, Mr. Ransom, and Mrs. Rooster had a band earlier called Rickshaw - this is how we first met like 25 or so
years ago.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Don´t really know all members' fave bands,,, personally I listen to all kinds of music from any genre, and this gives
me good practice, but I mention an old Australian rock band as a personal favorite for the fundamental
groove and great songs. In general - the band listens to lots of countries, rock´n´roll, punk rock, and metal.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
I think anything/anyone affecting you in life, history, memories, and ongoing trauma within society and people.
6. Where was your last gig?
We played recently at a tattoo convention in Borås, close to Gothenburg, Sweden. Good fun!
7. Where would you like to perform?
CBGBs NYC would have been fun,,, I would like to go to Japan, have never been there so that would be a
cool experience I believe - interesting crowd and culture.
8. Whom would you like to perform with?
A diverse bill with QOTSA, Kraftwerk, Lisa Gerrard and Behemoth.
9. Whom not?
I don´t see a reason not to play with anyone or any band if not politically or sexually abusive.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat
that?
Yes, sure, all the time. It's not so bad these days, you learn to handle it. But it´s good for you in a way, that gets you
focused, alert, and energetic. The day when I´m not experiencing any feelings before a gig I´ll start to worry, I
guess.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
AC/DC is a good one here, as well as Iron Maiden, Slayer, and Morbid Angel in my early career. Bands with
great drummers and different styles which is applicable to my own one I guess. But I do get inspired still from
all kinds of genres - anything from weird pop to stoner, could be something I just recently picked up, a song,
or something I just came across on the radio as well.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Apart from the usual signing of different body parts, I do not have much here, unfortunately.
13. What do you think of your fans?
They are the best, really give us a blast during our live shows, cool and supportive!
14. What do you think of our site?
Really cool one! I like the underground vibe, the diversity of genres, and the picking up of new artists, keep
up the good work!
15. Something to add?
Thanks a lot for the interview :) Check out the latest CNE album “20” released during summer, packed with
great rock songs – the perfect soundtrack to any party, wedding or funeral!
