Interviews: Fear Lab

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Metal band Fear Lab from Switzerland. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or come out just like that?

I would like to say that we spent a long time and a lot of effort choosing this band name. The fact is that back then we just said we wanted two words, the rest was completely random. In the meantime, we have matured a lot and find our band name more fitting than ever before. In our lyrics, we deal a lot with our own feelings, emotions, worries, and fears.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

At the beginning of our journey, we didn't know where it would take us. As different as we were at the beginning, we have grown closer and closer together over the years. Our common preferences in musical taste actually became heavier over time, which also strongly influences our own music. We are now very happy with what we have created.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We knew each other to some extent, but it was mainly the band that brought us together. It was like a little family that kept growing.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

It's always super hard to decide on a single favorite band, and it's actually always a snapshot in time. Our favorites certainly all belong to the metal genre, mainly metal core. At the moment I would say it's "Fit For A King", "The Plot In You" and of course "Sleeptoken".

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

For me, music is always an outlet to express my own feelings, it's always something very personal. Each of our songs tells a story that we have lived through ourselves or that we are dealing with.

6. Where was your last gig?

We are currently on tour through Switzerland and Poland. The last gig was at WERKK Baden, and it was really amazing. It was a big party for everyone and we will remember it fondly for a long time to come.

7. Where would you like to act?

We all have our own dreams, but we all agree on one thing. We are working hard towards the common goal of one day being able to stand on a stage in the USA and inspire people with our music.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

With the Swiss nu metal band "Eversis". They really are the sweetest guys around, and it would definitely be a lot of fun to share the stage with them. I think it's really important that local bands support each other and that there's no competition.

9. Whom not?

With Sleeptoken; they are just too good and we would ruin their music for sure.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Of course, we know the feeling of stage fright. In the beginning, it also prevented us from progressing a bit. But there's only one cure: just go out there and do your thing. No shame, no fear. A musician belongs on the stage, and the stage belongs to the musicians.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Of course, we know the feeling of stage fright. In the beginning, it also prevented us from progressing a bit. But there's only one cure: just go out there and do your thing. No shame, no fear. If you belong on stage, then the stage belongs to you.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We have to honestly admit that our fans are all the sweetest people and treat us and each other with respect. We love signing shirts and CDs for people after the gigs and taking photos with them. Okay, there was once a situation where various bras flew onto our stage. Was that weird?

13. What do you think of your fans?

As I said, we love our fans. Without them, we wouldn't be where we are today. Making you happy and inspiring with our music is the greatest gift for us. Standing on stage and watching you dance, jump, clap, scream, swing, and sing along, that's exactly why we make music.

14. What do you think of our site?

It is extremely important for artists to have a platform to present themselves.

15. Something add?

Every bit of attention is important in order to build up your fan base step by step. Thank you that there are people like you who support us.
