Interviews: Impact Approved

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Melodic Death Metal band Impact Approved from Germany. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or come out just like that?

The band's name was not planned. Uwe has read it on a freight container during work in the port of Bremerhaven 😊

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

The genre is one of our most favored styles which we also listen to in our private life. It is the best compromise of melody and roughness and also keeps space for other influences of modern metal genres.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Uwe and Moe have known each other for 33 years and have been best friends since then. They have shared their musical career for 30 years now. Phil has joined a previous music project from Uwe and Maurice for 10 years and has been a close friend since then. Matze, our actual session guitar player was also in former projects roughly 16 years ago. We know each other pretty well and we have a strong relationship which makes things pretty easy.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Uwe: AS I LAY DYING

Maurice: SPIRITBOX

Phil: IN FLAMES

Matze: 80’s Thrash Metal Bands (too many to mention)

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Pretty easy answer: there is so much shit going on actually that makes it more or less impossible to not use them for lyrics. The music is just the surroundings of this. The music is created in our home studio at Uwes’ house. He is doing 90% of the music and the remaining 10% are added by the other members.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was in Hamburg/Germany

7. Where would you like to act?

We guess that it is every metal musician's dream to play at huge festivals like Wacken, With Full Force, etc. But we don’t mind the size of the festival/gig. We enjoy small venues with only 20 people also. As long as it is mind-blowing and the crowd goes crazy we are fully satisfied.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We are open to any band. As long as it fits and both parties are happy. We have a cool song on our 2nd album which features Lewis from „April in Flames“. And this is "The Truth“ 😊

9. Whom not?

Any German "Volksmusik“ or "Deutschrap“ musicians.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

At young ages, this was happening sometimes. Nowadays it is not a problem anymore. If we should recommend something we would like to say "Always be true and be yourself. Trust in your abilities and enjoy the moment. There is nothing you have to fear“.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Let's make this simple: AMON AMARTH, AS I LAY DYING, KORN, LIMP BIZKIT, SLIPKNOT, HEAVEN SHALL BURN, DARK TRANQUILLITY, SOILWORK, IN FLAMES, MACHINE HEAD, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, THE HALO EFFECT,.......

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

When we played our last show in Hamburg we had to sign off some naked boobies 

13. What do you think of your fans?

We have a small but very loyal fanbase. And we love sharing the time with them before the show, during the show, and after the show.

14. What do you think of our site?

We enjoy the cooperation with Wormhole Death and we are happy to release our 2nd album with them.
