Interviews: Our Noise

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Indie Rock band Our Noise from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that? 

Interestingly enough – the name of the band was first “ON”. We always knew we wanted to expand on that, and it just so happened Our Noise fit what we felt were creating.

2. Why did you want to play this genre? 

Alternative hard-punk-rock with groove – I guess is the genre – and I am not certain we chose it, it was just what we were drawn to. Our Noise is really all of our influences in a blender and then poured into a sound.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We played together in ON when we were younger – and then kind of each went our own paths. We always maintained friendship though – and when the opportunity came that we were all free from other commitment – we thought, “lets just jam out and see how it goes”. And here we are!

4. Each band member's favorite band? 

Let’s see – I will take a shot at this:

Lucy: Nirvana, Beatles, Funkadelic, Led Zeppelin

Steve: Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath

Dan: Genesis, Rush

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Life situations; geographical locations; mental health; emotional turmoil

6. Where was your last gig? 

Brooklyn, New York

7. Where would you like to play?

We would love to play in Japan.

8. Whom would you like to play with?

Queens of the Stone Age Cage the Elephant Foo Fighters Deftones Quicksand

9. Whom not? 

We are very open-minded and would love to have the opportunity to play with so many artists – I cannot think of one we would not want to play with, to be honest!

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Yes, and you just DO IT – afraid – and guess what --- it does get better and easier. I just think “Well this is who we are, this is who I am – we can’t really go wrong”.   

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Beatles, Nirvana.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

My diet.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are awesome – cool – intelligent and we love them.

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s amazing! Very cool and draws you in!
