Interviews: SBARCO

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Heavy Rock band SBARCO from Italy. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

The name "SBARCO" was born as a joke in the rehearsal room. It was about a previously born musical project that lasted one rehearsal. From there christened as the shipwreck project. After this anecdote I do not remember from whom came out the word “ SBARCO” and let's go! The game is done!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

The genre we play brings us together despite the various musical influences. We found the right balance to make everyone happy with the project. We like to use the term heavy rock to describe the project “SBARCO”.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We met 3 years ago and the project was born a year later.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Very difficult choice but we will try to answer:

Nebu - Faith no more, Led Zeppelin, Filter

Matteo - Beatles, T. Rex, Replacements

Marco - Police, Cure, The Who

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Generally, the songwriting originates from Nebu and then is worked out in detail in the rehearsal room. The writing of vocal lines travels hand in hand with the writing of riffs and arrangements. We are guided by the emotions of the moment without giving too much thought to sticking to one style. Lyrics come last and are written by Matteo.

6. Where was your last gig? 

Our first concert will be held on July 20 here near Milan. Now we are in the stage of promoting singles. The album will be released in early September, and we hope to undertake some live performances in the fall/winter season.

7. Where would you like to act?

Definitely, a club tour would make us very happy.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I think each of us would like to do a collaboration with our favorite artist. Often the name Walter Schreifels of Quicksand comes up.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Fortunately, there is just that little anxiety at the beginning of the concert, which lasts a handful of seconds ;) The only advice we can suggest is to repeat over and over in your head “ Have fun”

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We could mention many but we will limit ourselves to only a few: Quicksand, Refused, Deftones, Lanegan, Reuben, Handsome, Corrosion of Conformity, Down.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

No strange requests have come in at the moment

13. What do you think of your fans?

I hope many will come so that I can tell you what I think :))
