Band Biographies: Braindrag
BRAINDRAG emerged in 2013 with the sole intention of composing great music and performing live concerts. Enric GS, formerly of "Acció Directa" and "Tropel Nat", the founding member of the band, was joined by talented musicians from the Barcelona scene. During this period, there were several changes in the lineup. They played concerts in Barcelona at venues such as "El Monasterio" and the legendary "Rock Sound", and released their first and second EPs, "One" and "Soñar".
With the addition of their frontwoman, Mireia Pérez, everything changed for BRAINDRAG. They decided to elevate their professionalism. In late 2019, they released their EP "Atreverme", featuring remixes of previous band songs with Mireia's vocals. They performed at Razzmatazz in February 2020 alongside Icestorm and Deldrac, receiving favorable reviews from the specialized press. However, the music scene was severely impacted by the pandemic in 2020.
Following the addition of Llorenç Arbonés on drums, formerly of "Antropophobia", and Gon Tello on bass, formerly of "Sublevels", the band regained its strength and began work on their new album. In 2023, BRAINDRAG entered professional studios to record their new compositions. Between June and December 2023, they released the singles "Salta", "Try Not To Fall", and "Rhapsody", offering previews of what would become "Coure Roent", their first full-length album.
They performed live concerts to support Elisa C. Martin at Sala Wolf at the beginning of 2024, as part of a tour around Catalonia. On March 1st, they released "Coure Roent", showcasing the band's growth and their new direction in sound and composition. It was during this time that they began discussions with Wormholedeath Records, signing a contract on April 3rd for promotion and worldwide distribution.
