Band Biographies: Myrrh
Hailing from the desolate shores of Bay d’Espoir, Newfoundland, Myrrh (Nathan Manuel) has spewed forth a loathsome display of raw DSBM. Soaring guitar riffs, unrelenting percussion, and frost-bitten vocals shape landscapes of despair before crumbling into passages of all-encompassing defeat. Myrrh has dissected the fragility of the human spirit, reflecting upon the helplessness and fear residing within us all.
Myrrh has crafted a unique brand of DSBM, utilizing dual guitar lines to weave complex sound collages, creating a beautifully textured landscape of isolation and solitude. Instrumental and spoken word passages inspired by post-hardcore and emo add further emotional depth, furthering a narrative of desperation and loss.
Major influences include Sadness, Ulver, Paysage d’Hiver, Psychonaut 4 and Burzum.
