The name Sarajah comes from Nordic mythology. It is the great sea in the north. Most of the lyrics are about mythology and nature in the north. The title track takes you on a dangerous journey across Arctic waters. The album artwork shows HMS Terror stranded on ice. The ship was on an expedition to navigate the Northwest Passage. The expedition ended in disaster, and the crew died in the Canadian Arctic islands. The song "Journeys of Willem Barentsz" tells the story of a pioneer explorer of the northern seas. He was also stranded on ice with his men. Barentsz eventually died at sea.
