Behind The Tracks: Future Palace - Dreamstate (Single) (2024)

Our most recent single 'Dreamstate' is one of my favorite songs of the upcoming Album. It was written as one of the last songs and I was under a lot of time pressure since the entire writing process was very delayed for many different reasons. The song really speaks about how I felt at that exact moment: overwhelmed, burned out, and barely functioning.

I found myself staying in bed for a long time when I woke up because I just really did not want to start the day or even fall asleep again when I felt very low. Hoping to disappear in silence or in a dream-like world. That's also what the lyrics are about. Originally our guitarist Manuel gave the demo of the song the title 'Dreams' and it really resonated with me and helped me start writing.

The music video was shot in Latvia, Riga. We tried to represent that dream world, which I just mentioned and still represents the pain and weakness. We even put a huge mattress on a lake and got stung by a bunch of mosquitoes.
