Behind The Tracks: SILOS - Black Mold (Single) (2024)
The source of inspiration for "Black Mold" was remembering a friend I carpooled with in middle school saw my crumbs on the floor of his mom's car and said “Ray everywhere you go you leave a trail behind you. That's why this song is about overcoming a bad hand or bad luck. It’s realizing that no matter how many times you have messed things up, you can always change something to make it better. It’s about being a black sheep and feeling lost or without purpose. I go through these self battles and I try to constantly improve but sometimes it feels like I’m not winning the battle. So my message to the world is sometimes we might not win the battle within but we can still win the war within. I couldn’t think of anyone better than Craig Mabbitt from Escape The Fate to have on this track. He’s someone I’ve always looked up to and wanted to collaborate with, so it was a dream come true to record this together.
