Interviews About Albums: ORDINUL NEGRU - Dodekatemoria (2024)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Romanian Black Metal band ORDINUL NEGRU to ask questions about their album, "Dodekatemoria".

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

“A Sojourner Wandering Through the Barren Openness” represents a collection of experiences we had through the last years in developing our concepts and sounds. We were really into taking our music to the boundaries of the earth and shaping it with hermetic powers in order to feel timeless and personal.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

The meaning of the title ep is rooted in the clear obscure of the dusk, when the light fades towards the great unknown, you remain alone with all your thoughts. It represents the sole experiences we had as individuals in forging our destiny on the firmament of cosmical integration. Everything is thought out and can be accessible through our music and lyrics if you put your mind to work.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

We are a collection of three individuals, and we respect each other's choices, so we contribute with our hearts and minds to the general canvas. It is very important to have this connection, to be able to concentrate and not lose time and feeling with other interactions and persons who do not understand music and art as we do.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

The EP has only one song, so it’s safe not to do any injustice to other pieces we compose.

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

We somehow avoid having a clear message to other individuals. We believe that each creature can go on a personal path and make choices. Maye we just want to describe our part of the story as a general experience, like we read from our favorite writers (Crowley, Borges, Cartarescu, Umberto Eco, Saramago, etc.), but not as a message with clear guidance but more as a thought lost in the mist.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

“Magical realm, when will your wisdom tree bloom again?”

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

There are some places where we like to hang out in the mountains with whom we have a strong connection, also I mentioned books, maybe old movies and of course, we have in our blood what we listen to (Abigor, Bjork, Voivod, Swans, Godflesh, Woodkid, St. Vincent, Neurosis).

8. Something to add?

Search for the hidden nature in the cosmic realms and think for yourself.
