Interviews: ADRASTEA PROJECT BAND

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock/Heavy Metal/Symphonic Metal band ADRASTEA PROJECT BAND from Italy. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

The name of the band came up while looking in an astronomy book. Adrastea, in addition to being a character from Greek mythology, is a satellite of Jupiter. Since there was already a band with the name Adrastea, I added Project Band to differentiate myself.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I've always been passionate about 70s hard rock and 80s heavy metal. Throughout my musical career, I have been influenced also by the groups where I played. I can say that what you can hear is the sum of my musical influences.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, with some of them, I currently play in another band of mine, Blue Dawn. I have collaborated with others in the past and I collaborate occasionally (like, for example, with a Small Band).

4. Each band member's favorite band?

I can say that we all (or almost all) have favorite bands in common from the three great 70s hard rock groups such as Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin, 80s heavy metal like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Judas Priest and Saxon, gothic/doom like Celtic Frost, My Dying Bride, Candlemass, and Paradise Lost, to symphonic metal like Stratovarius and Nightwish, up to prog rock-metal like Marillion, Genesis, Dream Theater, Rush and Pink Floyd.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The music I always listen to inspires me. If I have an idea in my head, I immediately try to use it to turn it into music.

6. Where was your last gig?

I played with Small Band, in Garlenda (near Savona, Italy).

7. Where would you like to act?

I would like to play throughout Italy, not just in my city or region. Even abroad, which only happened once in 2012 for a mini U.K. tour with Blue Dawn.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Certainly most of the musicians who played on Adrastea Project Band's debut album.

9. Whom not?

I don't know what to answer.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I can't tell you if any of the musicians who play with me have stage fright. Surely we all have a minimum of fear, but it's that fear that allows you to play well. What advice do you give to a beginner? Be yourself and stay focused and relaxed as much as possible.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

For sure, my favorite bands: are Deep Purple, Saxon, Whitesnake, Judas Priest, Yes, Black Sabbath, and Helloween.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

No strange requests from my fans at the moment.

13. What do you think of your fans?

I thank them so much and I hope they continue to listen to my music.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's an interesting website, which gives space to many underground bands.

15. Something to add?

Thank you for the interview and for this opportunity. You can listen to the album 'Maximum Risk' on YouTube or Bandcamp (where you can purchase the album on CD or digitally) or on Spotify.
