Interviews: Diseased Earth

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Sludge Metal band Diseased Earth from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

The name was thought up by our bassist Joe. It’s our view of humanity and how we are a plague upon this planet and cause nothing but woe and mystery

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Heavy tunes keep the sad away. It’s extremely cathartic to get on stage and play some heavy music from the depths of our souls

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Joe and Travis had met in the local scene beforehand, Paul was introduced to us as we were playing shows and Damian was moving here from Kansas and had made a post in a local metal forum we connected cause our former drummer had decided to move out to California

4. Each band member's favorite band?

We all like a lot of things from grind to death metal to Southern rock to hip-hop

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Existence and having to deal with all the BS that comes with it and the complex range of emotions

6. Where was your last gig?

It was at the legendary Crayola house in Harrisonburg, VA. It’s been there for almost 30 years and is about to be done doing house shows

7. Where would you like to act?

We will play anywhere with a good PA and a crowd that is ready for some heavy tunes

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Thou

9. Whom not?

Anyone sprouting any racist, sexist, or anti-gay/trans rhetoric

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

It happens still sometimes but its something so freeing about being on stage and just letting go

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Lots of them, hard to narrow it down, especially with 4 members from different backgrounds

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing yet, but maybe one day

13. What do you think of your fans?

Love em

14. What do you think of our site?

It's cool

15. Something to add?
