Interviews: Malus Dextra

On this new occasion, we have the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Groove Metal/Nu-Metal band Malus Dextra from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or come out just like that?

Justin came up with the idea of the band, looking to find something that was unique, a name that would catch the darkness and formidable presence, commanding and ominous.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Both Justin and myself (Wayne) have always done metal music, it is just a natural result of our talents.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, we first met booking a tour together, we were both in two different bands in two different states looking to get out and do shows.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Justin - Slayer

Wayne - KsE

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

A lot of our music is based on personal experiences and the political environment in the USA.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was in St. Louis MO. where the band is based.

7. Where would you like to tour?

East Coast

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Machinehead, Tom MacDonald, KsE. Any of these would be epic.

9. Whom not?

Honestly unsure, I guess anyone who we can't get along with.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Sure, it's all a mind game, you just have to try and channel that energy into the performance, I think some of the best shows come from a little nerves.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Would have to say Slayer, KsS, Machinehead, and White/Rob Zombie.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

A picture with their dog.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Absolutely love our fans, without them, we are just a band playing to ourselves and music is meant to be heard, we even love the haters cause without them we wouldn't have as much fun.

14. What do you think of our site?

The website is solid, simple, and seems to have a good flow, love the metal horns mouse. The only downside is the ads that are everywhere but at the same time understanding it helps keep the company going.

15. Something to add?

We still have at least one more single we will be releasing before the remainder of the EP drops so be sure to sign up for our newsletter, and follow us on X, Truth social, and Rumble cause Facebook has canceled our traffic due to us being vocal and taking advantage of our 1st Amendment Free Speech.
