Track By Tracks: Cadaverous Condition - Never Arrive, Never Return (2024)

1. They Came From The Hills:

The first single of the album and to us one of the best CC songs ever, musically and lyrically. Epic and ominous. Something (and someone) is coming. Something wicked.

2. The Plow:

One of the first songs written for the new album, a death stomper. Lyrically it is about new beginnings, terrible things to happen, and false beliefs.

3. The Eternal Burial:

“Under the wide and starry sky
Dig the grave and let me die”
Life is the eternal burial.

4. All The Wrong Turns:

A sort of half ballad, ominous and spacey beginning, important lyrics, and then a full-on brutal stomp. One of our favorite songs off this album.

5. A Blizzard Of Lies:

A rather groovy track, a song about defiance maybe, and also redemption.

6. From The Other Side:

Another hymn that gave me some Bathory vibes when first listening to the demo.

The lyrics already have a special place in my heart, it is about encounters and chances lost, like so many of our songs. It also features a ghost appearance from Mark Breyer.

7. Hidden Things:

A sometimes chaotic assault on the senses plus the usual CC stomp.

8. The Darkness Is In My Bloodstream Now:

Haunted by ghosts and things that lead to bad decisions, dark thoughts, and even worse things.

Swirling guitars.

9. A Thousand Midnights In The Silent War:

This one reminds me a bit of Morbid Angel (Blessed Are The Sick era, my favorite) but with some usual CC twists. Frantic drums.

10. To Be:

This song was originally written around 1992. We recorded it for our first album, In Melancholy, and it also appeared on the limited vinyl What The Moon Brings that featured recordings done in 1992.

Now reworked and finally with a fitting bombastic sound, our first album had weak production.

Now it shines as the Death Doom hammer that it is.
