Track By Tracks: Krypticy - The Non Return (2024)

1. Infected Pharaoh:

This song is inspired to create a real OSDM track inspired in the Florida scene but with the brutality of some details that members like Pancho (with blast beats, grooves, double kicks..) or Thomas (with high and fast bass lines) added. Guitars are composed to play the stereo and harmonic game using palm mutes, artificial harmonics, or question/answer solos. So the first composition was the music and after that, the lyrics.

The song theme was inspired by the history of Ramses V who died of smallpox. It's kind of suspicious that this disease didn't come by nature but human manipulation and his successor, Ramses VI, put out the dead body of his predecessor of the Valley of the Kings. So this is a conspiracy that Ramses VI killed Ramses V to become the new pharaoh. Mystery is the essence of our name, Krypticy, and this track is a good example.

2. Hypatia's Hersy:

This is the first song composed for this album and the intention in the music is the same as Infected Pharaoh but simpler. We decided to make a track with a simple structure, slower tempo, choruses, overwhelming drums, choir games, and everything to create an easy-catch song. Despite its simplicity, variety is notable when the interlude begins after Sergio's highly expressive guitar solo adding progressive changes with details like virtuous bass lines by Thomas. The bass player also added the choir games in the last time of the recording of the vocals combining the grindcore screams (Thomas) and the low-pitched growls (Alex)

The lyrics contain very aggressive words of mutilation about the Hypatia's slaughter, this supposes the end of the classic world by killing the most intellectual characters and burning their scriptures. This is one way of the message of ''The Non-Return'', the inevitable destiny of the human being who ends up destroying himself.

3. Texas Chainsaw Massacre:

The name talks for itself. We made an aggressive medium-tempo song simulating the noise of the chainsaw motor with the strings and the blade hits of Leatherface with the drums, for example. The feeling We want to transmit is the fear of the victim and the sickness of the killer exploiting the slow tempo by filling it with many details. Sergio's solo is the highest feeling in the track (And maybe in the whole album) not only for the solo itself but the rhythm that plays different and exclusive tones perfectly bound to that virtuous solo. The drums are very parallel to the guitar riffs but many times Pancho goes out of the rhythm to give even more power to the song.

The lyrics are very descriptive to create the scene of torture, killing, and feeding of human flesh, very twisted shit. The verses start fast with rhymes well selected like it was a rap but, after that, flow with the medium tempo, and the screams and growls become more aggressive. Here We decided to add three samples to make the listener imagine inside the Texas house, to hear the roar of the chainsaw against the flesh and the screams, and, at the end of the song, to make a reference to the 74's original film.

4. The Void:

This song is the most close to the album title and artwork. In the music, We play a linear structure with scales and harmonics games under explosive percussion. That was an experiment to make something out of the old school patterns without losing our influences, the result was very interesting, a kind of progressive death metal, aggressive and chaotic. A long time after We composed the music and played it with the instruments, We wrote the lyrics. The feeling of the song was totally paired with the title and artwork of the album which describes the individual falling, so We wrote about the self-destroyer side of the human being, who is not able to stop his own fall with his demons to a deep hole where death awaits.

5. The Water Street Butcher:

Very similar to Texas Chainsaw in the feeling but instrumentally more chaotic with the bass guitar as the main character in many parts and melodic riffs that give new styles to the Krypticy record. The song theme is about the false documentary ''The Poughkeepsie Tapes'', about a twisted murderer who collected 800 tapes of violation and mutilation in any order. The song matches the sick feeling of the serial killer, Edward Carver. At the end of the track, We included a bass guitar solo by Thomas to have a special low-pitched sound giving the final touch to this sick song.

6. UGH:

The thrash/death song was composed to describe the feeling of getting drunk for fun but with the verses the alcohol becomes more dangerous for the individual who doesn't care about anything because he's blinded by hatred. The composition of this song was very funny, We made sounds with the mouth without thinking in tones or scales, only sounds coming out of the brain and translated into the guitar to create violent sounds. When the base was created We added the darkness of death metal.

7. Krypticy:

The meaning of our name is on the lyrics of this song but the music is a wink for the OSDM fans that want to hear the songs like in the ''Necronomicon'' EP. The song is slower to mark the riffs and to give space for the vocals.

The lyrics talk about the reason for life and death, the main enigma of the human being that only a few have known and expressed in cryptic messages. But Krypticy is also an inhuman entity that judges the weakness of the individual who is not able to know his reason so We introduced the nihilist perspective.

8. Virgins Recently Fucked Sacrifice:

The origin of this song was a survey about what gore B movie We were going to play. The people chose ''Karate a Muerte en Torremolinos'' a film created and directed by Pedro Temboury. The music was the first composition, We decided to write some level-up riffs without thinking in any death metal style, just for fun, like in the movie. But the riffs became more technical and melodic and the drums were incredibly parallel with the guitars, Pancho ordered some riffs that the strings did after that giving a huge power to the main riffs. It is a perfect expression of the feeling of the four members of Krypticy in a ''freestyle'' song. The interlude is very influenced by 2000 death metal bands with medium tempos and slamming riffs to give a very violent feeling, increasing the tempo after a breakdown that gives sense to this progressive part and ending up in a chaotic and fast part.

The lyrics describe the scene in the movie where the zombie-ninjas emerged from the sea to destroy the city of Torremolinos by the command of Dr. Maldedades who order them to catch five virgins recently fucked for the ritual that awakes Jocantaro, the beast who sleeps into the deeps of the sea. Under this story We use the gore scenes to describe the funny mutilation of the movie in phrases like ''Ripping out the arms and legs, use them as a weapon''. That was very amusing to write this song because We saw many times that movie and We wanted to express the same feeling with death metal.
