Behind The Artworks: Prisoner - House Of Cards (2024)
The artwork features our mascot, Davey, revealing the next step in his journey. All of our album artwork is hand-painted by our artist and friend John Garrett. In a world of AI generation and “good enough” artwork for fast turnaround. We believe in the authenticity of true visual artistry. The concept is to create a visual that connects to and follows the music from one record to the next. As most artists will create albums as singular concepts, we want to extend the artwork to tell a story from album to album creating a long-form concept where each record is a piece of one large entity. Each record will have its own sound and taste but the artwork is meant to tie it all together and create a story if you were to put them all down side by side. At this point in the story, it shows Davey out of the cage depicted in the first record. This is the first time we get to see a close-up of this human-like gargoyle character. It depicts his magical ability as well as symbolism foreshadowing things to come in the future of Prisoner.
