Behind The Scenes: Punks Of The Empire - RAGE (Official Video)
Let me start by saying congratulations on this amazing website! I respect you guys, for helping the underground metal music to the surface.
I constantly see myself trapped in an echo chamber of a worldwide conspiracy of agony and sorrow. A panopticon of clickbaits and superficial drama. The concept of Gehenna is about that in a way and the third song of the album is RAGE.
From the Concept article:
“Rage - Not coping with reality and the loss, he tries to get along with everyone around him. He is smiling and covering up his madness with pretentious interest in others. Numbed by futile rage, he starts to daydream about life in a very sinister way. He's reliving reality, dominated by grief, changing it into something else.”
In the huge world of the internet, it is surprising how it presents narrow and monolithic views, the algorithm constantly gives the choice of war terror, and racism.
This idea of the algorithmically moral decline was our working point in the pre-production of the video. Kristjan Kristjansson directed the video and did all the work, We just showed up and pretended to play the song at half-speed. We shot the video on an old farm in Akureyri. We brought Guðrún Huld into the team for choreography and to direct the dancers.
The stars of the Video are the dancers and actors Arnar Sif and Þorsteinn GÃslason . They had never met before and were extremely professional. They got half naked and ready in an old sheep-house with sand floor lights and fire and delivered the most terrific performance.
